Quality Materials Are Essential for Quality Log Homes | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|
A quality log home requires a commitment to quality in all aspects of construction -- ranging from site preparation and materials selection, to proper construction techniques. This section looks at issues related to the quality materials used in our log houses and structures. While poor construction techniques can offset the value of quality materials, even quality construction techniques can not fully compensate for poor materials. We insure a quality end-product by starting with quality logs.
All our log structures use durable eastern white pine or cedar logs milled to precise Amerlink specifications. These specifications are critical to constructing log homes and structures that require minimal upkeep while insuring long life. Each log is milled so that the bottom of the log extends slightly beyond the top of the log under it. This "invisible lip" prevents water from creeping into the crack between the logs, and prolongs durability. This suptle design element is a critical factor in constructing log homes and structures that require minimal upkeep while delivering long life. This is one example why we represent Amerlink Log Homes.
